These 2 Young Bulls Were Sparring During The Rut In Cataloochee Valley
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park's largest animal, Elk can weigh 700 pounds and reach 5 feet at the shoulder. In 2001 Elk were re-introduced in Cataloochee Valley, Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Elk can often be found near the Oconaluftee Visitors Center close to Cherokee N.C.
I photographed this mature Bull Elk mid morning resting during Autumn season in The Great Smoky Mountains.
Jordan Hill is a self-taught award winning wildlife and landscape photographer born and raised in Guntown, Mississippi. He first got into photography a few years ago while vacationing.
