Pineapple Fountain Charleston South Carolina Sunrise.
In downtown Charleston, along the Cooper River, lies Waterfront Park, a public park that houses the Pineapple Fountain. This fountain is a bronze pineapple sculpture that sprays water from its tiers. The pineapple, a sign of hospitality in the South, was chosen to reflect the city’s recovery and resilience after Hurricane Hugo in 1989. The fountain, which was completed and opened in 1990 by designers Stu Dawson, Jay Faber, Varoujan Hagopian, and Mark Dawson, is a beautiful and fun destination for both residents and visitors.
